PLOT Little Pu (Ingmar) spends a summer in Norrland in 1926 with his relatives and some friends of the family. Uncle carl shows Pu and his brother dag how to shoot with a bow and arrow, he gets to see where the watchmaker once hung himself and hears the story why. When his father goes to Grånäs to preach, Pu accompanies him on the trip by train and bike. The film cuts between Puís childhood in Norrland, and the adult Ingmar visiting his father in a retirement home.
