PLOT Sweden in the 1950s. 16-year-old Erik has been involved in a fist fight and is kicked out of school. His mother sells some art to make money to send him to the boarding school, Stjärnsberg, as a last chance to break free of his old life of conflicts and violence. But at Stjärnsberg there is a tradition that the oldest students straighten the younger students with condoned and incessant persecution and punishment. The teachers turn the blind eye. Erik knows he can't fight back, as this school is his last chance to graduate and get into high school.
